Arab Studies Quarterly (ASQ) was established in 1979 by the late Professors Edward Said and Ibrahim Abu-Lughod. They envisioned the journal to be a platform for academic research to counter anti-Arab propaganda veiled by academic jargon. Since its inception, ASQ has been a refereed academic journal that publishes articles on the Arabs, their history and social and political institutions. The journal continues in the tradition of its founders and is committed to promoting a humanism grounded in research as a counter to the dominant Orientalist discourses in the field of Arab (and Middle East) Studies.

| Arab Studies Journal is a peer-reviewed, multi-disciplinary research publication in the field of Arab and Middle East Studies. ASJ is published by the Arab Studies Institute (ASI) and is housed in the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University.

| The Middle East Institute has published The Middle East Journal quarterly since 1947. The Journal provides original and objective research and analysis, as well as source material, on the area from Morocco to Pakistan and including Central Asia.

| The Institute for Palestine Studies (IPS) is the only institute in the world exclusively devoted to documentation, research, analysis, and publication on Palestinian affairs and the Arab-Israeli conflict. It is an academic organization dedicated to protecting the integrity of the historical record. The Institute is completely independent: by statute, it cannot be affiliated with any government or political organization.

| Jadaliyya is an independent ezine produced by ASI (Arab Studies Institute), the umbrella organization that produces Arab Studies Journal and runs the Documentary Film Collective, Quilting Point. Jadaliyya provides a unique source of insight and critical analysis that combines local knowledge, scholarship, and advocacy with an eye to audiences in the United States, the Arab world, and beyond. | On August 14 2006, Beirut-based Al-Akhbar was launched as a "calculated adventure" by prominent Lebanese journalist Joseph Samaha and a team of like-minded colleagues. The late Samaha (1949-2007) envisioned a publication that would uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity while remaining true to the principles of anti-imperialist struggle, progressive politics, and freedom of expression.
