Heather Hughes Appointed Interim Dean of Â鶹ÊÓƵWCL

Heather-HughesÂ鶹ÊÓƵ Washington College of Law is pleased to announce the appointment of as the new interim dean, effective July 1,Ìý. Professor Hughes brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished record of teaching and scholarship to her new role. Since joining the Washington College of Law in 2007, she has taught commercial, business, and property law, earning numerous accolades including the WCL Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2019, the Edwin A. Mooers Scholar Award in 2017, and the Emalee C. Godsey Scholar Award in 2010. Her current research focuses on the impact of emerging technologies on law and the legal profession, positioning her as a forward-thinking leader for the law school.

Prior to her tenure at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Professor Hughes practiced in the business department at Morrison & Foerster LLP and was a founding faculty member and assistant professor at FIU College of Law. Her extensive background in both academia and legal practice will be invaluable in her new role as Interim Dean.
