Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society Has an Outstanding Showing at Mediation Tournament in Bhopal, India
This fall, three student members of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society at Â鶹ÊÓƵ Washington College of Law (Â鶹ÊÓƵWCL), Dolores Sinistaj ’19, Michelle Emokpae ’18, and Liz Pursley ’19, competed in held in Bhopal, India. The National Law Institute University hosted the competition Nov. 17-19. Each year, diverse teams of law students, coaches, mentors, faculty advisors, and legal practitioners from around the world participate in articulating and learning about various forms and techniques used in mediation.
Pursley, as a client, Sinistaj, as an attorney, and Emokpae, as a mediator, all advanced to the final rounds. They clinched second place overall in both the mediation and advocate-client categories, an impressive result in a field of 32 law schools. Â鶹ÊÓƵWCL was the only law school to qualify for the final round in both categories. Additionally, out of 96 individual competitors, Emokpae placed 8th in the mediation category, and Pursley took home the 4th place mediation trophy.
