Prem M. Trivedi is a Senior Fellow in the Tech, Law, & Security Program at Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Washington College of Law, where he contributes to projects involving national security, technology, privacy, and speech. His expertise is at the intersection of technology, governance reform, and international affairs.

Mr. Trivedi is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, where he teaches a course on tech policy, law, and political theory. From December 2018 to February 2022, he served as a public policy advisor at Meta (Facebook), where he helped to develop the company’s strategic privacy priorities and advised teams on building products in a privacy-protective manner. Prior to joining Facebook, he served as a Counselor and Attorney-Advisor at the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB), an independent federal agency whose work spans issues at the intersection of counterterrorism, technology, and civil liberties.

Since 2006, Mr. Trivedi also has worked and written on foreign policy and governance issues in India. He has participated in political reform initiatives led by an NGO in Hyderabad, researched student politics as a Fulbright Scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru University, and studied Indian military doctrine at the Centre for Policy Research in New Delhi. He also has worked as a consultant with the World Bank Group, a Fellow with the Public International Law & Policy Group, and in the international arbitration practice group of a global law firm. 

Mr. Trivedi received his JD from Harvard Law School and his BA, magna cum laude, from Columbia University. He is a former Heyman Fellow at Harvard Law School.
