An exploration of policy issues that could help America overcome -- or exacerbate -- the nation's increasing economic and social challenges in the coming years.

Andrew Byrnes is an attorney and operations executive with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of technology and innovation, law, business, and public policy. Presently, he is Deputy General Counsel and Global Head of Public Policy at Getaround, the connected contactless car-sharing marketplace, where he leads the global public policy and government affairs, privacy, regulatory, and intellectual property functions, and provides full stack legal support. During President Obama’s second term, Andrew served as the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office within the Department of Commerce. He has also served as the principal general counsel for Uber's global rideshare business, a cross-functional legal and operations executive at two venture-backed technology companies, and an intellectual property litigation partner in several major law firms, most recently Covington and Burling, LLP. Andrew is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School.
