Nishan Kottahachchi

Nishan Kottahachchi ('02)

(WCL Class of 2002) is a Senior Vice President on the Business & Legal Affairs team of Paramount Global in New York.  Nishan is an experienced, business-minded strategic adviser providing practical business and legal advice to his clients in the areas of intellectual property, marketing, advertising, privacy, AI/ML, NFTs, data security, product counseling, complex tech transactions, licensing, and litigation in the United States and internationally.  Before joining Paramount, Nishan served as Senior Counsel at VaynerMedia.  He also worked as an associate in the intellectual property groups of Cooley LLP and Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP in Washington D.C. and Harvey Siskind LLP in San Francisco.  While at WCL, Nishan was an Article Editors on the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Law Review and was part of the inaugural cohort of students in the Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Law Clinic.  Nishan is a graduate of Rutgers University where he majored in Political Science and minored in Economics and Psychology.  He is also a graduate of the NAMIC Executive Leadership Program (ELDP) at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.  Nishan has been a long-time supporter of the  Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property (PIJIP) and a mentor to WCL students.
