International and comparative law has long been central to the educational mandate of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Washington College of Law, and the cutting-edge international legal programs and degree offerings have been consistently ranked among some of the most prestigious in the United States. On April 3, Â鶹ÊÓƵWCL sponsored the 26th annual Grotius Lecture featuring Dame Meg Taylor, focusing on sovereignty and unity for Pacific Island nations amidst the climate crisis. The discussant, Julian Aguon emphasized the role of younger generations in asserting the Blue Pacific identity and advocating for justice, referencing Vanuatu's ICJ advisory request on climate crisis obligations.
Since 2002, Â鶹ÊÓƵWCL has hosted the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. Currently, we are the only law school that hosts Humphrey Fellows.
Our Â鶹ÊÓƵWCL faculty is consistently contributing to the development of diverse international legal fields, including international economic law, human rights and intellectual property.
