Pablo Saavedra

Pablo Saavedra has been the Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San José, Costa Rica, since 2004. He was previously Deputy Secretary of the Inter-American Court. Professor Saavedra was a lawyer of the National Corporation for the Reparation and Reconciliation of Chile, where he investigated human rights violations that occurred between 1973 and 1990. He has also worked as a lawyer in the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and has presented numerous conferences, and given various chairs in several universities. He received his undergraduate degree from Diego Portales University in Chile and earned his master's degree in International Law at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
