Since 1990, Barry Breen has been a member of the adjunct faculty at the Washington College of Law at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, where he teaches Environmental LawÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýAdvanced Environmental Law: Liability and Torts. He is a Deputy Assistant Administrator at the Environmental Protection Agency. Before coming to the EPA, Professor Breen was Editor-in-Chief of the Environmental Law Reporter, Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Division, and a Captain in the U.S. Army. He was managing editor of Sustainable Environmental Law, which won the annual Best New Book award from the Association of American Publishers in the legal scholarly category. He wrote eight of the annual competition problems for the National Environmental Moot Court. Professor Breen has received the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching, the federal government’s Meritorious Senior Executive award, and the Army’s Meritorious Service Medal. In 2019, he was named the Environment, Energy, and Resources Government Attorney of the Year, by the American Bar Association's section of environment, energy, and resources. Professor Breen graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
