Alisha Sharma

Alisha Sharma is an attorney and has experience of working on a range of cases including arbitration, criminal matters, property matters, intellectual property rights, public utility matters and family law matters at the High Court of Delhi, Punjab & Haryana High Court and at the various Tribunals.Ìý Her research interest lies in the field of international commercial arbitration and her SJD dissertation focuses on Institutional Arbitration and Investor State Dispute Settlement.

In 2018, Alisha was selected by the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration to intern with its Australian Disputes Centre (ADC), Sydney. While interning at the ADC Alisha produced high quality work and research. She was given the responsibility to independently research and write articles and cases studies relating to various Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes. Her paper on mediation is published by the center as a resource for international mediators and arbitrators. During her time with ADC, she was exposed to the practical aspects of ADR as well as thought leadership in the sector, including attending the Australian Maritime and Transport Arbitration Commission’s annual address conducted at the Federal Court of Australia.

She is the Co-chair of litigation division at the Indian National Association for Legal Professionals. She also has an engineering background with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science.Ìý Prior to adopting law as a full-time profession, she had an experience of working in the field of information and technology with various multinational organizations. She is an ardent speaker on women's rights and other issues related to women in India. She gets regularly invited by various law schools and corporate houses as a guest speaker on topics like Alternate Dispute Resolution and Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace.

  • Master’s Degree: Master of Law from Department of Laws, Kurukshetra University, India, with specialization in Business Laws and Alternate Disputes Resolution System.

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor of Law (LL.B) from Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from Thapar University (Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology), Patiala, India

  • Diploma: Diploma in Information Technology from Punjab State Education Board for Engineering and Industrial Training, Chandigarh, India

  • Certificates: Le Droit Certified Trainer for Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Work Place
