- Judge Patti Mitchell is a member of the Montgomery County, Maryland bench. She is an Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumna (SPA ’76) and has been an adjunct Justice, Law and Criminology professor for over ten years. In her more than 13 years as a sitting judge, Judge Mitchell has heard criminal, civil, traffic, domestic violence, and juvenile matters. A Washington native, she was a practicing attorney in private and public service for 16 years prior to her judicial appointment. In addition to teaching Â鶹ÊÓƵ students, Judge Mitchell instructs other judges, court employees, and newly admitted attorneys. Formerly, Judge Mitchell also served as a member of the Maryland Board of Law Examiners. Students enjoy Judge Mitchell’s informal, approachable manner and her use of guest speakers and media in the class.
