Fritz Kessler Communication (PhD)

Bio
Fritz Kessler is a PhD candidate in the Â鶹ÊÓƵ School of Communication. Prior to Â鶹ÊÓƵ, he spent nearly a decade in executive and internal communication roles at a number of high-profile companies in Seattle's booming technology sector. Since turning to academia, his research has focused on the rise of new media entities attempting to usurp the institutional role of local journalism, and he's been excited to collaborate with SOC faculty on diverse projects including an analysis of online expressions of citizenship from non-voters, and the development of computing ethics in the 1990's, among others. He misses the mild temps of the pacific northwest but is otherwise very happy living with his family in the DC area.
