- Ken is the Director the English Language and Training Academy (ELTA), an intensive English language program. He also serves as the Academic Director of the International Accelerator Program (IAP), which is an ESL pathway to the university. Ken began at Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 2012 when he led the launch of Â鶹ÊÓƵ's first pathway program. He oversaw the creation of ELTA in 2015. Ken designed and regularly teaches the ELTA course American Film and Culture Studies. He has worked in international education for over 25 years. Prior to joining Â鶹ÊÓƵ, he taught at UMBC, Northeastern, and Harvard University's Institute for English Language. At Brandeis University he helped create their ESL pathway program. Ken is on the Board of Directors for EnglishUSA, a national organization for English language programs. A Boston native, he has also lived in San Francisco and Italy, where he taught English. Outside of the TESOL world, Ken writes fiction. He has had three books published: Gone West, Defending Infinity, and most recently the novel A Cerebral Offer (Livingston Press, 2020), which received a bronze medal in Urban Fiction from the Independent Publisher Book Awards (2021). He has received artist grants from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County and from the Maryland State Arts Council.
