Carl Menninger Assistant Professor Performing Arts

Bio
Carl Menninger holds a master's degree from Emerson College and a bachelor's from Northwestern University. He is a writer, director and playwright and co-author of Minding the Edge: Strategies for a Successful, Fulfilling Career as an Actor. He is also the Associate Artistic Director at Windy City Playhouse in Chicago where he directed productions of This and The Boys in the Band which earned him a Joseph Jefferson Award. He is also the co-creator of the long-running immersive hit play Southern Gothic, which earned him a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for best new work. He co-wrote Sons of Hollywood which had its premier at Windy City Playhouse. His play Everything but You: A Modern Romance was given a staged reading at the Keegan Theatre in Washington, DC and was a finalist in The Phoenix Theatre Festival of New American Plays. In DC, Carl has worked at Ford’s Theatre, Studio Theatre and Adventure Theatre.
